‘Star Wars – Republic Commandos: Triple Zero’ – Chapter 16 (Part 14)

Saturday.  A day to get a bunch of things done and to actually sleep in a little bit.  To try and get caught up on things that I got behind on and to hopefully work ahead a little so that next week is not anywhere near as chaotic as this past week was.  I got up around nine-thirty this morning to my son fighting with the dog and him yelling at the dog.  He needs to learn to respect the animal more.  He seems to think the dog will do whatever he tells the animal to do.  Truthfully, the dog doesn’t know english, so how couild he do anything my son expects of him?  So, I decided to get up.  Heather had been up for a half an hour or so working on jackets from Marsha.  As I headed into the shower, she took off to the Post Office to send the jackets out.  She then came home and took a shower herself and I ate a quick breakfast and then we headed out.

We went to a funeral for Kay Owen.  Kay was a dear friend of ours.  She was the mother of a teacher that I work with at East Middle School and Kay was quite the person.  She was a Christian, a conservative, a mother, a friend, and someone that I respected and admired.  I viewed Kay as I view my own mother.  She was full of knowledge and I feel that my life was more fulfilling simply by having known her.  Today we went to a service where we celebrated Kay’s life.  It was both joyous and sad all at once.  But, one thing that I do know is true is that Kay was watching us from Heaven today and she was smiling, and laughing and she appreciated the way that all of us came together to honor her.  I will pray for Kay each and every day of my life because I know that God is more fulfilled having her among his heavenly hosts now.

So, we went to a service at the United Methodist Church in Whitney Point.  We stayed long enough for the ceremony and talked to the family for a little bit and then had to get home.  On our way home, we stopped at CVS and got me a new toothbrush and got some asprin for home.  We then got home and I had some lunch and then went into the basement and started to work on the Mandalorian helmets again.  I was able to Bond-o out the dents in the helmets while I watched “American Idol” from this week.  Heather took a nap and then went to a nail appointment.  After that, I watched a Jim Stossel report on people who are “stuck on the system” of welfare and government handouts.  It was actually really interesting and enlightening.  I took a short nap myself and then Heather came home and we all had dinner together.

After dinner, I watched a few episodes of “Parking Wars” while I worked on fiberglassing the seams on the helmet.  At that point, Austin tried to go on a laptop to play on Webkinz and that’s when he found a virus on there.  It took me most of the night to try and get rid of the virus and in reality, I don’t have the virus completely gone yet.  It sucks!  But, luckily my main laptop is still working fine.  I tried to watch “Prince of Persia: Sands of Time” and got distracted, so I had to start over.  After that, I watched part of an episode of “No Ordinary Family” before going to bed with Heather.

Okay, let’s talk about Part 14 of Chapter 16 of “Star Wars – Republic Commandos:  Triple Zero” by Karen Traviss…….

Chapter 16 (Part 14):  Fi then found some ladder sections and he began to extend them end over end acrossed the gap as he balanced them on the parapet.  He though tit would reach and Sev asked if he would crawl acrossed, but Fi said he was going to run.  Sev commented that someone spiked his punch as Fi told him that if he falls and dies then Sev can crawl acrossed himself.  Sev said he hates how Fi provokes him into showing him how to do things.  They had mere seconds to get acrossed before being spotted.  Fi ran acrossed the ladder calculating the gaps between each rung.  He got to the other side and beckoned for Sev to join him.  Fi told Sev it was easy as Sev gave him a hand signal of disapproval.  They walked down the stairs to the doors that would grant them access to the top floor of the living quarters.  they could thermal tape the doors and lob grenades in to soften the targets before entering.  Fi then gestured that they head back and he ran back acrossed the ladder rungs.  Fi motioned for Sev to go and the clone made it two-thirds of the way , but then slipped!  Sev was hanging by a rung with his right arm and Fi began to be worried about how exposed they suddenly were……
