God help all hackers and those who create computer viruses after what happened that night two weeks ago. I got hit by a rather terrible (no, atrocious) virus tonight that came *this* close to wiping my laptop clean of data. This would be catastrophic because I had all my files on there. Pictures and all that was on there but, more importantly, all my uncountable documents were as well. My resume, game design document from high school, short stories, blog posts, and numerous other files were stored on there and I (albeit) foolishly I know, had failed to back them up. Needless to say, my lesson was learned—rather harshly I must say—and I have no backed up all my files and weekly copy all of them to a separate hard disc. However, that’s not the reason I’m writing this post. I’m writing it because I was asking myself as to what type of person creates these viruses that can cause so much damage to others’ personal belongings. Digital belongings yes, but no less important. What kind of person takes the time and patience to come up with and program these insidious things? They have to be some low-life scum to do that. Sorry if it’s a cold truth but it’s a truth nonetheless. It takes someone of a terribly low caliber to do this on a regular basis; heck, even doing it once is bad enough!
Thus, I’m forced to conclude that people who create these viruses must be some sort of sadist; getting off on others’ pain, misfortune, and anger. Perhaps I’m walking into a dragon’s lair here…or a den of wolves I’m walking into it prepared this time, unlike the last. For the lair, I have a (figurative, mind you) army of knights and archers. For the den of wolves, I have that same dragon from the lair now under my command. The dragon goes in first and roasts the wolves, so the knights and archers can have baked wolf tonight…this got extremely off-track, and for that, I do apologize. Yet, does baked wolf not sound tasty? No, it’s just me, then.
