My Top 5 Favorite Things (Right Now) May 2011

Wooohooo! My vacation starts today at approximately 12:30 pm EST (but who’s counting)??! I’m taking my computer down to Orlando with me – so you can bet I’ll have some interesting stuff later on this week.

I am a creature of habit. I find something I like, and then I continue to use it (same thing goes with food).  Since I’m going on vacation, I haven’t really made any new recipes – in fact, I have been snacking pretty much all day for the last few days.  I cannot wait to start baking/ cooking again which leads me to my number one favorite thing this month….

My Top 5 Favorite Things (May 2011)

1. My Kindle. I love my Amazon Kindle – it is quickly becoming my all-time favorite gift ever (thanks Dad). I love that I can buy pretty much any book directly from my Kindle and I especially love that I can even get free books. I have been taking my Kindle to the gym with me every single morning and it has really helped my workouts fly by. I love that it doesn’t hurt my eyes.  I have read so many books already and I have them all with me as long as I have my Kindle.  E-books are also great because it keeps from adding more books to your (probably) overcrowded book shelves.

I really love that every time you put it to sleep there is a different background. LOVE my Kindle!

2. The Best Of Cooking Light Cookbook. This cookbook is awesome, I actually finagled it from my Mom. There are so many fantastic recipes (a lot with pictures) in this cookbook and I cannot wait to try some of them.  I have been keeping it on my kitchen table and whenever I eat I read through it. Stay tuned for my versions of some of these recipes.

Over 500 recipes… How long would it take to cook my way through this?

3. Pepper Jack Cheez-It’s. Ok so this isn’t really a new thing to me – but I love these. In college, I ate quite a few boxes of these. I absolutely love Pepper Jack Cheese – so when these came out, I knew I was meant to get some.

These have the perfect amount of pepper in them – perfect I tell you, perfect.

4. Nars Laguna Bronzer. I had been looking for some great bronzer for the past few weeks and when I saw Courtney’s makeup vlog last week, I figured I had to give this a try. I bought it at Sephora and discovered how great it is. I love how it has shimmer to it that really gives your skin a healthy glow.

This stuff is magical.

5. Wine – particularly Murphy Goode Cabernet Sauvignon. Obviously, I’m not a wine expert, but I really love the depth of this Cabernet. I like the tastes of blackberry that you get. This stuff is delicious. I always get it from Total Wine.

Empty wineglasses = sad wineglasses.

And now, it’s time for the things that didn’t make the cut this month…

5 That Didn’t Make the Cut (But I still love)

1. Brie. Still loving the Brie that I got from Trader Joe’s.

2. My new pillows. I actually returned that color and got a burnt orange variety (pictures coming soon).

3. Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Perfume. This stuff is amazing.

4. Macbook Pro. 5 months later and it’s still on my favorite things list. This PC girl has been converted.

5. My Pampered Chef Apple Cutter. This cuts each apple perfectly. Fantastic.

See ya later!
