2012 will see the first edition of the Alpine Sailing Trophy (AST), so its pretty new and exiting for all of us. What is fixed for now are the boats, the lake and the date. And of course the ambiente.
The AST was able to secure an option on brand new Laser SB3s (2012 is going to be their second sailing season): They are fast, sporty and elegant – ideal for short tactical races and the boats are identical, so no complaining about rating systems or boat equipment.
Fresh, Fresher, the Freshest
The AST is happening on Lake Traunsee the deepest lake in Austria, which is reflected by its crystal clear/drinkable water and its dark blue colours. The regatta is taking place from May 10 to 13 when its getting warm in the air and the lakes becomes swimmable (up to some minutes for the brave). In Spring you still see some snow on the Alpine peaks in the distance so excellent sailing conditions with winds between 3 and 7 Beaufort are almost guaranteed.
Laptop and Lederhosn
After the races, participants and their friends will be able to network and relax in the local Yacht Club overlooking the lake and can indulge in traditional Austrian food and hospitality. Dress code is sporty casual for most of the event, but our Swiss and German Business School colleagues are invited to take their Dirndl and Lederhosn to help giving this event a special note.
Pre-Register Now
This is a high profile, international sailing event that brings together Students and Alumni of Europe’s Top Business Schools. Due to limited availability of the boats (there is only ten), the event is run under a one-boat-per-school policy. More information will be available in the members section upon registration of your interest.
