Attack of the Wicked Laptop

Hello all!

Well yesterday was quite eventful.  After I made my first post there was a cable outage so I didn’t really have the internet for a while.  I figured, No biggy, nothing I can do about so no point worrying about it.  When the internet came back on, I discovered that the failure of the internet had eaten the driver on my wireless card!

Thank goodness or the go back feature!  I went in an did a system restore.  I did the usual when it comes to dealing with that madness.  I sat, watched and waited.  Then I waited.  I then waited a bit more.  Damn there is  lot of waiting involved!!!  About an hour had passed of me waiting for my OS to come back on.  I then faced the hard truth,  I needed to reinstall my OS.

This is where the real attack started.  I couldn’t find my fancy-shmancy windows 7 disc so my roommate let me use her old copy of windows XP.  Now XP was a wonderful program.  Never had a single issue with it.  Sadly though, someone decided to hack this copy.  It had several viruses as well as some spyware written into the very workings of the OS.  I about lost it.

It made my poor innocent laptop run worse then when it had Vista on it.  Every 2 minutes it was trying to get me to remove the viruses it put on my computer!!  I have never wanted to take a hammer and put it to a piece of technology like I did last night.  Finally I managed to get the thing running a bit better.  Better at least to the point where it would allow me to listen to some music in peace.  Then this morning, it happened…

The internet went down AGAIN!!!  I think its time to send some hate mail to the cable company or something.  Anyway, I remembered where my Windows 7 disc was and I got it installed.  Thankfully my beautiful computer is sexy and virus free once again.  here is hoping that the cable company soon gets their act together though.
