Sony VAIO Z590UAB: If you do not mind the higher price tag, Sony VAIO sets itself apart from other laptops on the market with its exceptional quality. This models contains a 128 GB Solid State Drive and weighs in at only 3.5 pounds with a 13.1 inch screen. The operating system is Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate. Prices start at around $3200.
Toshiba Qosmio F50: This all purpose laptop has outstanding performance and state-of-the-art multimedia capabilities. Specs include a 512 MB NVDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics adapter with a 15.4 inch screen, 500 GB storage space, 4GB RAM, and a 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. The cost starts at $2100.
HP Pavilion dv5tse: This is a great laptop if you want to combine work with play. The Pavilion offers a maximum entertainment system with surround sound speakers by Dolby, and excellent capabilities for doing your school work.
